Middle Nene Flying Fifteen Open report

and Southern Travellers Update

Middle Nene is a fantastic place to sail, and the weather was perfect for the 7 boats on the Saturday with a strong NE wind Force 4.  Ed and Andrew Connellan lay down the challenge in the GBR2700 in the first race and then the close racing resulted in 4 boats all getting a first place in a race over the weekend.  The forecast for Sunday was not looking favourable so the decision to do two races back-to-back on Saturday a late lunch and then another 2 back-to-back.  Sunday was barely sailable with 6 mph to start and variable.

  1. A close finish on points resulted in joint 1st with 10 points, however GBR3873 Neil Bartholomey & John Montemayor with 2 firsts and a discarded 6th took First Place.
  2. Second went to GBR2433 Mark Greer and Gary Livingstone
  3. With a close third, GBR1155 Graham Lamond with Son Alistair one point off the lead

The club and friends gathered for a BBQ afterwards with 60 people attending. Making it a fantastic weekend and we look forward to seeing more visitors next year!
