8 visiting boats joined 8 Club boats at Loch Lomond Sailing Club for the event.
The winds over the 2 days were a challenge both to the Race Officer and the Crews, with variations in strength and direction, but persistence paid off and 5 races were completed with the minimum of delays.
With winds fluctuating from Force 2, through Force “Not a lot and direction questionable”, to Force 3+, the varying conditions resulted in close competition throughout the fleet, with places changing during each race as competitors found the best route to match the conditions over the 4 Windward Leeward races and 1 Triangle Sausage.
Race wins for Steve Goacher, local Cammy Dunn and Steve again on Saturday were followed by 2 for Dave McKee on Sunday as the winds picked up somewhat, but all competitors were able to enjoy close battles throughout the fleet. That there were no recalls in any race exemplified the Spirit of the Fleet, something welcome but most unusual in my experience of 15 events !
50 Entrants, Supporters and Duty team members enjoyed an excellent Supper and Social evening on Saturday, with typical 15er Sociability and Craic.
After the Prize giving by Bobby Salmond and Vote of thanks to LLSC and their excellent Duty team from Steve Goacher, entrants were on the road home by mid-afternoon, with most promising to be back for the closing 15 Open at LLSC on Oct 5/6.
Overall positions were
1 Steve Goacher and Tim Harper 4021 RWYC
2 Dave McKee and Mal Hartland 4065 Dovestone SC
3 Cammy Dunn and Ian Hepplewhite 4001 LLSC
4 Craig Hepplewhite and Garth Wilson 3693 LLSC
1 John and Iain Best 3142 Loch Earn SC

Thanks from LLSC to all the competitors and UKFFA for their assistance in the preparation of the event.
