Rutland SC hosted Round 3 of the Travellers Series over the weekend of the 3rd and 4th June. The home boats and 9 visitors enjoyed a great weekend blessed by sunshine, warmth and an enjoyable force 2 to 4 wind. Racing proved close and the 6 race event was slickly managed by the race team to limit waiting times and provide a weekend of Champagne sailing.
So far, half-way into the series, there have been 37 competitors and 6 have completed two events. In this 70th year of the class it is great to see that the earliest boats figure prominently in the overall results. The series is lead by newcomers to the event Andy Farmer and Rebecca Ogden from Notts County. They are followed by Bobby Salmond's Silver Fox sail no 202 and in third place is Graham Lamond's 617 Fettercairn - both tied on points.
The series is only at its half-way point and there is all to play for. The remaining events are as follows;
